The game is more interesting and adventurous to the player due to the inclusion of the naval combat in this fourth series of the popular video game series. However, the naval combat in the Assassin's Creed 4 Black Flag is more complex when compared to the one in the previous installment of the franchise.

This is because the naval combat in this fourth series includes new enemies, challenges, weapons, and progression systems.

The new set of weapons includes the Hidden Blade and the Flintlock pistols. The flintlock pistols is a weapon enabled by the developer of the game to ensure that Kenway can shot four successful shots by strapping four weapons on his back and front. This upcoming fourth series makes it possible for the situation where the player can access full underwater combat while playing the game. This includes the use of marine animals and fish such as great white sharks.
