Halo 3 Has Your Name on Each Individual Bullet

Via 1up-clan.ucos.de
According to Bungie, the series' creator, gamers have spent over 85 million days playing Halo games online. However, that figure is probably rivaled by the amount of time Bungie has spent filling the games with more meticulous detail than the average Kubrick film. For example, in Halo 3, every single bullet fired from an assault rifle has the main character's name carved into the back of it, as if he brought all the bullets from home.

Via Halo.wikia.com
So now, while mowing down your enemies, you can scream, "Suck my autograph!"
It's known, appropriately, as the Chief's bullet, and although it is technically present and visible in regular play, it is impossible for anyone to actually see, because bullets are tiny and fast. Reading a millimeter of text on a television screen is difficult enough without having to try to discern it from the back of an individual bullet as it explodes from the barrel of your space rifle toward AIDS_Lord6969.

The only reason anyone ever discovered the Chief's bullet was because Halo 3 includes a replay mode that allows you to record videos of any multiplayer match you participate in. Some bold Halo player combing through saved videos of their various online victories inadvertently stumbled upon the writing, and now it's a well-known Easter egg.

Halo 3's replay mode also revealed other laborious details put in by the game's development team, because apparently scrawling a self-referential word onto an infinite rain of digital bullets wasn't enough. For example, every Warthog armored vehicle in the game has a full set of lighted dashboard instruments, despite the fact that you only ever see the cars from the outside.

Yeah, but your avatar knows. And that's what really matters.
This is like Warner Bros. hiring a team of carpenters to build a complete interior set for the house next door to Wayne Manor in Batman Begins.

Call of Duty Is Packed With "Authentic" Details No One Will Ever Notice

Via Worldsgamestore.com
In addition to being a lightning rod for kids who communicate exclusively via homophobic racism, Call of Duty is one of the best-selling game series of all time. The games pride themselves on realism in their portrayal of both military strategy and equipment (OK, the last game did feature robot attack spiders), sometimes to an absurd degree. For instance, in the Black Ops II multiplayer, they have gadgets called Tac Inserts that control where you respawn. Normally you can only see them for a split second before placing them on the ground. However, if you hold onto one long enough (essentially making yourself a giant stationary target with a glowing PDA), you'll notice a set of coordinates on the item's display screen:
Via RaptorClaw141
They lead to a psychiatrist's office.
If you write those coordinates down and search for them on Google Maps, you'll find that they correspond to your in-game location in the real world. For example, one level is set in Singapore, so your Tac Insert's coordinates will show a place in Singapore. The detail is simultaneously so mind-bogglingly precise and utterly pointless that it's almost beautiful.

But this series is full of "nobody will ever notice this" details -- in one level of Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 3, you're trapped in a plane that is falling from the sky. If you happen to press the reload button during this brief sequence, your magazine will actually float away from you like it would in real life.

Via theRadBrad
Luckily, pants prevent the same thing from happening when you shit yourself.
In Call of Duty: Black Ops and its 1980s-movie-sequel-titled follow-up, Black Ops II, there is a multiplayer level called Nuketown that is crammed full of hidden details. For instance, there is a scale model of the Brady Bunch house, despite the fact that 90 percent of the game's audience isn't even old enough to tell you the names of all five original Power Rangers.

Via Callofduty.wikia.com
"Here's a story ... of a lovely lady ... who was bringing up thr- INCOMING! HIT THE FUCKING DECK!"
Nuketown also features a countdown clock, which displays the actual time left in the match rather than the amount of time Indiana Jones has to locate a refrigerator, a population counter that changes depending on how many people are left in the game, and mailboxes bearing the names of the game's main protagonists. All of these details are impossible to notice while you're battling a horde of screaming teenagers hyped up on Monster and Avenged Sevenfold.

Real Gaming Guitars to Retro Recreation Recorders

Whether you're a retro gaming fan or you're into modern consoles, these game controller adaptations are sure to tickle you in the right way. Be prepared to be overwhelmed with nostalgia as these geeky goods will let you express your inner nerd to your heart's content.

The most artistic of these game controller inspirations is probably a samurai-adorned Playstation controller, which is visually impressive. Those looking to rock some Nintendo-inspired fashion will love the NES controller carrier bag as well.

Far Cry 3 system requirements

Far Cry 3 system requirements for PC gamers won’t be too demanding, and will only feature modest system requirements. Far Cry 3 will run on a wide range of PCs due do its use of the Dunia engine, which has been used and refined over the past many years. Far Cry 2 was powered by the Dunia engine, and Far Cry 3 will powered by the same technology, albeit a modified version. Here are the Far Cry 3 specs that we know of so far:

Far Cry 3 system requirements (minimum)

  • CPU: 2.0 GHz dual core processor
  • RAM: 1GB of system memory
  • Graphics: DirectX 9 compatible card with 256 MB RAM. Nvidia 8-series or AMD Radeon 3000 series graphics cards.
  • Operating system: Windows XP
  • DirectX compatible audio card
  • 12 GB of hard disk space

Far Cry 3 system requirements (recommended)

  • CPU: 2.4 GHz quad core Intel or AMD processor
  • RAM: 2GB
  • Graphics: DirectX 11 compatible card with 1GB of video memory, Nvidia 400-series or AMD 5000-series.

Mario Kart 7

When it comes to kart racing games, there's Mario Kart and then there's everything else. Whether it's the simplicity of Super Mario Kart or something experimental like Double Dash, they've always been ahead of the pack, and 2011’s Mario Kart 7 was the culmination of everything the series had gotten right to date in one nifty package.

Everything we love about the series, like approachable racing controls and players dashing across the track, flinging shells with reckless abandon are still intact. The mix of tracks and battle arenas is equal parts fresh and nostalgic, as even old tracks return and are made new with the addition of underwater and hang gliding sections. Add to all that the best graphics in franchise history and you have the greatest kart racer to date, Mario or otherwise.

The Elder Scrolls V: Skyrim

Move over, Oblivion, there’s a new Elder Scrolls in town. The Elder Scrolls V: Skyrim is buggy, messy, and sometimes a bit guideless--and we don’t care. The massive, sprawling action-RPG is one of the best of all time, with a gigantic, immersive world utterly filled with content.

And we’ll be honest: the core game isn’t much different from Oblivion, but the addition of dragons--and their shouts--change the game completely. Slaying a gigantic dragon and stealing its soul is one of the greatest gaming moments ever, and the fact that it happens dynamically makes it wonderfully personal. And the feeling we get when we hear the Dovahkiin chant after entering a dungeon? Seriously. One of the coolest things in any game--ever.

Dead Space 2

Dead Space 2 straddles the action/horror boundary more successfully than any game since Resident Evil 4. While reactionary reports of its descent into shooterdom are greatly exaggerated, DS2 takes everything that made the first game great and scales it up to create a truly dynamic, cinematic experience. It’s still an aggressively atmospheric, savagely affecting sci-horror nightmare, but this time around Dead Space has a certain sweep, a certain sense of spectacle that makes its classic claustrophobic creep part of a more enriching whole.

In no small part responsible for the improvement are the big leaps forward in storytelling. While adding a voice to a previously silent protagonists can be disastrous, Dead Space 2’s conversion of Isaac from mute observer to active, fully-voiced participant works wonders. Emotionally involving way past simple scares, DS2 is the realization of the complete Dead Space package.

Deus Ex: Human Revolution

There have been few more stunningly convincing game worlds this generation than that of Deus Ex: Human Revolution. Flawlessly reinvigorating the universe of the original game after 11 years, it does so within one of the most seamlessly realized, densely nuanced fictional realities seen in any medium for a good few years. Even casual players will be impressed by the powerful story of action, consequence and philosophy augmenting the game’s immensely rewarding and empowering player-driven action.

Those wishing to dip their toes a little deeper will discover a vast sprawl of detailed visual design and affecting writing to heap years’ worth of history and narrative weight upon proceedings. It’s fitting that a game so built around the idea of emergent, improvised solutions achieved through player exploration should provide such a bounty within the very fabric of its world. You’ll find few more powerful combinations of form and function in modern gaming.

prototype 2 pc system requirements

The story is also one of revenge, as Heller wants to kill Alex Mercer, protagonist of the original Prototype, after his family was killed in the outbreak of the Blacklight virus. Top 10 Kinect Games

Here are the top 10 Kinect games for 2012; now that Xbox Kinect has been around for a while there is a definite list of the most popular games for Kinect.

The new number one Kinect game is Kinect Rush - A Disney Pixar Adventure, this is a game for the whole family to enjoy. Get your friends together and take a holiday into the wonderful world of Disney. You get to create your own Pixar character then off to camp you go.

The second Kinect game remains as Dance Central, this will teach you how to dance the moves from the music videos and it will go fairly smoothly along a learning curve as well. The use of the technology is impressive and it is probably the best party game out there since Guitar Hero became known as a party game (Honestly this one is better, because anyone can just start dancing and having a good time). It works great among all ages and all backgrounds since everything is done with visuals and because of the no-controller feel anyone can easily pick it up and start playing (though don't get me wrong, it is not easy to master). Dance Central 3 has just been released and is going to be one of the hottest games for Christmas 2012. It already has a 9.2 rating from over 500 reviews
The top Kinect sports game is Kinect Sports plays soccer, beach volleyball, bowling, table tennis, track and field, and boxing, it's so much fun playing on your own, setting yourself goals, but when I competed against my friends it was so exciting. Kinect Sports really adds a nice dimension to your video game experience. Make sure you check out Sports Ultimate, this is the best of the Sports 1 & 2 games.

Kinectimals and this is the top kids' Kinect game. A wide-eyed Bengal tiger cub cocks its head to the side and playfully peers at you. Memories of your first trip to the zoo come rushing back. Through the magic of Kinect that furry tiger cub is in your living room and about to become your best friend.
Then the fifth on my list is Your Shape and Fitness Evolved 2012. This game with the Kinect technology puts your body into the game for the ultimate experience. You'll control the game intuitively with your voice and body as you create your desired fitness experience. Choose a personal trainer to help you meet your specific fitness goals, take a Yoga or Martial Arts class, or play fun, family-friendly mini-games.

Forza Motorsport 4 is the best Xbox racing games made, now with the Kinect controller this Kinect racing game is one of the "most expansive and vividly realistic automotive experience across any console.", but with the new Kinect controller it really is going to be very special.

Now number seven the Biggest Loser Ultimate Workout is a very good workout, you will not need to go to the gym again, offers more than 125 exercise moves focused on upper body, lower body, cardio, yoga, and cardio boxing. Players can select from the exercise moves to create a custom fitness routine or choose from 10 pre-set fitness programs such as Belly Buster and Boot Camp.

Kung Fu High Impact, become a capable Kung-Fu hero and use any fighting moves you are capable of to bring fear to your enemies. Kung-Fu High Impact is a full-body motion fighting game that uses the Kinect to scan you inside the game to fight the evil with real kicks and punches, boosted with superhuman abilities; you literally become the hero of the game. This will give you a really good workout.

There are a couple of new Kinect games that have just recently been released that are worth looking at: Nike + Kinect training, this is a great workout you can do in your own living room at the best time that suits you. This is a personalized fitness program for you.

Just Dance Greatest Hits is another very new game that has a very successful start, this is the best of Just Dance and JD 2, with over 35 great tracks to dance to.

Hope you have enjoyed my list of the top 10 Kinect games, there are some exciting games coming up in 2013.

These are the top 10 Kinect games from 2012 ratings, but if you want to see the complete selection of top Kinect games and to see what the new Kinect games for 2012 are coming out, please check out Top 10 Kinect Games

The Five Best PS3 Games for Pure Fun

GTA IV
GTA, while at times having an impressive storyline, is at its finest when you allow it to be taken for what it is. I spent countless evenings after a tough day playing this with my brother seeing who could get the most stars without using cheats before being stopped by the authorities. Mindless violence yes, but also hugely entertaining.
Fun fact: Did you know that GTA is, infact, a UK produced games series and not one from the USA.

Burnout Paradise
Taking out other cars is so fun, driving fast is so fun and finding jumps is so fun. The game is one of the easiest to play. It is the fun alternative to a more serious game such as Gran Turismo. If you want realistic driving experiences this is not for you. If you want to drive a formula one car around a city while doing jumps and you love the idea of crashing into your rivals to win a race this one is for you. It is probably the most exhilarating game I have ever played due to the sheer speed of the races.

Warhawk/Starhawk
Personally I don't feel that Starhawk is quite as good as Warhawk. However they are both two of the most underrated games available on the PS3. It turned my into a kid again, the best action figures always used to be the ones that came with vehicles and in both these games you will find vehicles aplenty.

Infamous 2
There is a little bit of a trend appearing here. I do like realising my childhood fantasies that will never be when I find time to game and being a superhero was definitely one of them. Lightning coming from your hands, chasing down bad guys and some awesome graphic effects make this game fun. I never could take it very seriously (wait until you see the first cut scene) but that makes it a far easier game to pick up than if I was truly engrossed in it.

Just Cause 2
Who wouldn't want to jump out of a plane and hang onto a helicopter? The map is huge, the options are never-ending and the gameplay is hugely fun. This game will never be the most challenging nor have a very good story but I could hardly care less when I was blowing things up, driving the coolest vehicles and generally letting out my inner child.

The above games are not my favourite games ever, but when I am tired and want a quick gaming session before bed or work these are the games I love to turn to. What are yours?

Top Ten PC Games In The World

What elements push a game beyond mere goodness and into greatness? To this author, PC games are best when they deliver a transcendent gaming experience that is possible only with the aid of a personal computer: They don't simulate board or card games, reproduce real-world sports, or try to approximate movies. They are an art form unto themselves. To be considered, a game must have achieved most of its prominence on a PC platform. (This explains why Tetris, for example, didn't make the cut: It was clearly the Nintendo Game Boy's killer app). I defined a "PC" as any consumer computer that has a keyboard the user can program with arbitrary code--not just a PC of the IBM variety. If you're into PC games, check out "15 Reasons PC Gaming Beats All," too. And if you want to stay current with the latest games, tune into PC World's ace gaming blog, Game On! Top 5 First Person Shooter World War 2 Games

The much anticipated sequel of the father of all first person shooters, Wolfenstein 3D, is hard to exclude from a top five list. The game is essentially a reboot of Wolfenstein 3D from the early 1990s, but offers a very modern take on the classic that still keeps up quite well with what more modern offerings have to provide. In it, players assume the role of Blazkowicz who must escape from a Nazi stronghold and investigate the secret paranormal division that's around him. It is a linear FPS experience that doesn't deviate from what players might already know from the original video game.
The visuals received a complete overhaul to keep up with more modern times. When played at maximum settings, which isn't beyond the means of many computers used today, the levels become very vivid in their presentation. Although I was left with the impression that it wasn't very "prison-like". Instead, the levels seem rather medieval and take on a more literal meaning of "castle" in many respects. However, this does little to detract from the overall experience of the game and it keeps to its predecessor quite well.

Overall, it's hard to find fault with the game's single player mode, but the game truly shines on its multiplayer mode: experiences that were sorely missed in the early 1990s unless players had the technical knowledge to create IPX networks. Despite being over 10 years old, Return to Castle Wolfenstein still has a vibrant online community of dedicated players who are unlikely to disappear anytime soon!

IGN Score: 9.0
Personal Score: 7.0
Age Advisory: Mature (17+)
4. Battlefield 1942 (PC - 2002)
It's hard to think about WW2 PC games and not have Battlefield 1942 come to mind. While comparably dated like Return to Castle Wolfestein, it's a game that's hard to beat in the multiplayer realm due to the voluminous capacity of players who are able to take part in any one match. Up to 64 players are able to play in an individual campaign, which are set in the Pacific Theater and Stalingrad. It's also set apart by its well-developed vehicle system. Increasingly modern games attempt to incorporate vehicles into the gameplay experience, but Battlefield 1942 still stands out as players have access to over 32 vehicles that are on land, sea, and in the air.

Given the age of the game, most modern computers released within the past few years would be able to handle Battlefield 1942 flawlessly. However, the visuals do indeed show their age nowadays. They still stand out as remarkable for the time of the game, but are losing their appeal as time goes on. Yes, it's understandable than an 11 year old game would do this, but visuals certainly aren't what keep players involved in the game. I'd argue it's the sheer capacity of players per match that make it one of the most unique WW2 games on the PC today.

If players are into full-scale combat, then this is a game that's hard to beat. It's by no means the best WW2 game available for the PC today, but has stood the test of time and is still widely enjoyed by players; much like Return to Castle Wolfenstein.

IGN Score: 9.3
Personal Score: 8.5
Age Advisory: Teen (13+)
3. Call of Duty (PC - 2003)
What WW2 PC games list would be complete without mentioning the start of what later became one of the most successful war-based franchises in gaming history? Like Battlefield 1942, Call of Duty is hectic in its experience and provides an unmatched intensity that's unrivalled in today's gaming scene. However, it also incorporates a great deal of historical accuracy: something that many of the best WW2 games choose to neglect, especially within the FPS genre. In it, players take control of numerous American and British soldiers who work their way through various campaigns during the Second World War. This was all done with sensitivity to the time period, so players won't find themselves making use of ray guns or other futuristic weaponry in this game.

When this game was released ten years ago, its visuals were unlike anything on the market at that point and rivalled some of the most hardware intensive games on the most powerful console at the time, which was the Nintendo 64. However, that's not to say the game was without fault. My test rig did come across some aliased features, but it's difficult to pin down the source. It could very well be a driver incompatibility given the age of the game against my more modern hardware.
It's still hard to go wrong with the original Call of Duty. Much of the community have moved onto more recent COD games, like Modern Warfare and Black Ops, but there's still a very active community who play the original game. Should it ever disappear, then the single player mode is certainly worth the experience!

IGN Score: 9.3
Personal Score: 9.0
Age Advisory: Teen (13+)
2. Battlefield Heroes (PC - 2009)
For some reason, this game is often confused with Battlefield 1942. Perhaps the name "Battlefield" confuses some players into believing they're the same game, but they are most certainly not! Battlefield Heroes is best described as what would happen if Team Fortress 2 was involved in the Second World War. In it, players side with either the Nationals (Axis) or Royals (Allies) and attempt to obliterate one another in a comical firefight that's very cartoon-like in its presentation. I think the more lighthearted nature of the game is what keeps so many players involved in the community, but there are also traces of historical accuracy to keep purists amused.

It's hard to find fault with the visuals. Yes, they're very laid back when compared to something like Call of Duty, but I believe this was the developer's intention with the game. There's certainly a comedic vibe to the entire experience that kept me engaged throughout the time I played the game.
Perhaps the only fault I can find with it is each gameplay session, regardless of the chosen map or opponents, caused me to be disconnected from the Internet. I'm not entirely sure what was happening, but it has affected two different routers connecting to two different ISPs. If this issue didn't exist, then I'd have no problem putting it in the first place position, but it is a major bug with the game that holds back an otherwise top-tier contender.

IGN Score: 8.0
Personal Score: 9.5
Age Advisory: 16+
1. Call of Duty: World at War (PC - 2008)
Yes, Call of Duty is making another appearance in the best of list with this title, which is the most recent Call of Duty game for the PC. After a slew of releases focused on more modern military conflicts, Activision reverted back to its roots with World at War and put players in the Pacific Theater and Eastern Front operations within the Second World War. The experience holds true to its predecessors in that it's very chaotic throughout the single player mode and features an impressive multiplayer experience to boot.

Visually, World at War is nothing short of a masterpiece. The stunningly detailed in-game graphics are complimented by exceedingly spectacular cinematic cutscenes that accent the player's progress throughout the game. Movement is fluid, responsive, and I dare say lifelike in many instances. Of course, this can be speculative as my test rig was able to play this game at very high settings. The experience may differ at lower settings, which may be required of some older systems not purpose-built for gaming.

It would be hard for me to consider anything besides World at War to be the best FPS WW2 game. It is currently unmatched in the gaming world in terms of its strengths and is likely to hold this distinction for quite some time as developers seemingly shy away from the WW2 genre on the PC. Regardless, I would be happy to make this my go-to WW2 game for quite awhile!

IGN Score: 8.7
Personal Score: 9.5
Age Advisory: Mature (17+)

How Metal Gear Became My Favorite Series

Hideo Kojima is known for a multitude of things: his wit, humor, depth of storytelling, and state-of-the-art imagery. All of which exemplify his most critically acclaimed franchise, Metal Gear. His blend of authentic historical events and "what if" scenarios are interwoven so intricately that they made me even question the stories told in the history books.

The Metal Gear series is undoubtedly one of my favorites and for good reason. It tells a cross-generational story that movies couldn't hope to replicate. The characters range from supernatural to surreal, all interconnected through the genius of Kojima and Konami. A Gatling gun toting giant, a cyborg ninja, and a photosynthetic sniper are only a few of the creative characters to emerge in the Metal Gear universe.

Their personal stories make them relate-able, and their reasons for fighting grant them an unconventional essence that draws us in. But the aspect that every fan will emphasize are the boss battles. Have you ever had a computer read your mind? How about having to unplug your controller and switch it into a different gameport in order to counteract this process? If you haven't played Metal Gear you have no idea what I'm talking about and how could you since Kojima is the only one to have incorporated this type creativity into the gaming realm.

In the same fashion the protagonist was born. He isn't your typical nameless veteran from a Call of Duty game or your overly testosterone charged Gears of War soldier. Solid Snake is a character who has changed game-to-game, adapting to his experiences, becoming more cynical with age. He undergoes the transformation from super soldier to man, war-torn veteran to human being. His words in MGS4 reflect it all:
"War has changed. It's no longer about nations, ideologies or ethnicity. It's an endless series of proxy battles, fought by mercenaries and machines. War, and its consumption of life, has become a well-oiled machine. War has changed. ID tagged soldiers carry ID tagged weapons, use ID tagged gear. Nanomachines inside their bodies enhance and regulate their abilities. Genetic control. Information control. Emotion control. Battlefield control. Everything is monitored, and kept under control. War has changed. The age of deterrence has become the age of control. All in the name of averting catastrophe from weapons of mass destruction. And he who controls the battlefield, controls history. War has changed. When the battlefield is under total control, war... becomes routine."

Kojima developed not only a set of games, but a unique genre. Never before had stealth been so successfully combined with action, cut scenes, and even comedy. Playboy magazines to distract "rowdy" guards is just the tip of the iceberg in Kojima's repertoire of seemingly useless items turned battlefield necessities. Metal Gear's iconic cardboard box never becomes completely outdated and can often succeed in helping Snake out of a close bind, and giving myself a chuckle in the progress.

And one of the most gratifying aspects of this entire franchise is the development of a story that becomes so profound and at times confusing that it invites and necessitates discussion amongst fans for a feel of true understanding. You may think you know Metal Gear, but I promise you there are subtle nuances and hidden connections you never picked up upon or suspected. Not to mention this is the only franchise I've played with actual information packs you can buy filled with backstory backstory and a bounty of hidden backstory. Plus game versions filled with extra content ranging from VR missions to battling giant Godzilla soldiers. (The Document of Metal Gear Solid 2, Metal Gear Solid 4 Database).

Metal Gear is movie meets video game, action meets stealth, and all around amazing experience. I can say without a shadow of a doubt that playing Kojima's masterpiece has not only entertained me indefinitely but opened my eyes to the possibilities of gaming. If I had never played Metal Gear, I would not be the same gamer, nerd, or person I am today.

How to Get Free Nintendo Wii Points and Codes

How many times have you drooled over those free giveaways for Nintendo Wii because you don't have enough free Wii points for them? How many games have you neglected because saving up your allowance just isn't enough to pay for these expensive new video games? I'll let you in on a little secret because I am a big fan of Nintendo Wii games and of course, everybody knows that getting free games is much better than paying for them.

There was a time when I used to have to save up and even work extra hours just to support my video game habit. I had to keep up with the latest game releases from Nintendo and I always shelled out money to get them. But all that changed when my friend asked me if I was aware of the free Wii points for Nintendo. Naturally, I was surprised to hear that there was such a thing and that I had been living my life spending money that I could have been saving instead.

When I found out how to get the free Wii points code, it was actually a bit of a no-brainer decision. I really have nothing to lose, and if ever it doesn't work I can always go back to paying for the points. Fortunately, it did work and the best thing about it was that it only took me a few hours before I earned about 2000 free Wii points codes. All you have to do is simply complete offers that these websites give you and you can begin earning points.

After about a week or two, I found out that I can actually refer friends and get even more points for it. So I started telling all my friends to go online and sign up to get these free Wii points codes.

Lego City: Undercover on the Wii

We've heard you joking, saying, "someone should make Lego Grand Theft Auto!" whenever a new Lego game was announced. You never expected anyone to do it, did you? But then, all of a sudden, Traveller's Tales actually did it--and it was super good. Lego City: Undercover includes a massive city to explore and all the charm Lego games are known for, all without the M-rating open-world crime games usually get. Instead, it's a fun trip through a blocky city that anyone can enjoy, filled with things to build and people to save.

Exploring the world as Chase McCain is a ton of fun, and being able to change into eight different outfits to take on new jobs adds plenty of gameplay variety. Donning an astronaut costume will let you zoom around in a jetpack (because apparently astronauts have jetpacks), and dressing as a firefighter allows you to put out fires you find in the open-world. Though you'll likely miss co-op, which was oddly omitted from Lego City, there's a good chance you'll be distracted enough by the dozens of hours of content that you'll barely notice it's missing.

BioShock: Infinite pc game

We've been waiting for what feels like forever to explore BioShock Infinite's Columbia, hoping it would live up to the absurdly high bar set by Irrational's original BioShock.

And, believe it or not, it actually reaches those heights, with stellar gameplay, a wonderful setting, and a story we'll be talking about for years.

Columbia is a remarkable location, but it's really Elizabeth that stole our hearts, proving to be a better companion than any game character we've ever interacted with. We're not sure Infinite trumps the original BioShock--only time will be able to tell if the complex, brilliant story has the lasting power of Rapture's tale of a crumbling dystopia--but, for now, we're confident that the game will go down as one of the best of the generation.

The Top 5 Video Games of 2013

From time to time, assessments are conducted as to which of the available video games are considered the best among the rest. In this article, the focus is on the ranking of the video games based on sales which is reasonable enough since the game with the highest sales is definitely the finest. Otherwise, it will not be patronized by the gamers themselves. Halfway through the year 2013, the NPD Group has released its rankings based on the sales reported by retail outlets for the period January to April. Below are the top 5 video games as reported by NPD Group.

1. Call of Duty - Black Ops II
"Call of Duty" reclaims the top spot this year after dropping to second on last year's midterm rankings. The seemingly futuristic setting of "Black Ops II" totally differs from the previous games that even the cynical players have already changed their outlook with this mega franchise. One factor that can be attributed with its high sales is the decision of Activision to offer the "Call of Duty - Elite" for free. With its strong performance, analysts have predicted that this video game will be the best seller among the entries in the 10-year history of the franchise.

2. Bioshock Infinite
The decision of original developers of the 2007 hit "Bioshock" to come up with a sequel this year turned out to be a huge success as it ranked second based on sales. The publisher Take-Two made an announcement in mid-May that it has a whopping 3.7 million copies sold. It has already received favorable reviews from critics and gamers alike, citing its strong following will be enough reason for this to be included in this year's "best of" lists.

3. NBA 2K13
The inclusion of this sports game is not surprising at all since it was patterned to the world's most prominent basketball league that has a huge following from the entire sports enthusiasts. Take-Two's version of this is a huge success since many analysts as well as players have already shown an incredible loyalty to this action-packed game. It has absolutely taken advantage of the absence of EA's Madden NFL series. Though the latter made a statement that it will release an NBA game this year, analysts say that it will definitely have a hard time winning back its supporters because NBA 2K13 has already established its name, thanks to the overwhelming response from the players.

4. Injustice: Gods Among Us
Gone are the days when "Mortal Kombat" was the talk of the town. Enter the newest fighting game that easily captured the attention of today's players. Warner Bros. has totally found a goldmine via this game that it even managed to have a spot in the top 5, exceeding the performance of the other games that have been out for quite some time.

5. Tomb Raider
This newest version of video game top-billed by Lara Croft is fiercer and stronger than the previous releases, making it the saving grace of the fading triple-A status of the "Tomb Raider" franchise. With its 3.4 million copies sold on the first month, publisher Square Enix has a reason to smile as it only shows that the franchise is still alive and continues to draw more players.
With the way things are going, video games are definitely here to stay. Its evolution is very remarkable that it has really surpassed the expectations. Millions of people worldwide, particularly those who belong to the younger generation are totally addicted to this entertaining past time. That is why the creators keep on producing more games to the delight of gamers around the world.

Tomb Raider oc pc -xbox and ps

Lara Croft was big in the 32-bit days, but it seemed like she’d been left in the past up until this year’s Tomb Raider reboot. By stripping down the character to her essentials, developer Crystal Dynamics made the character more human and relatable, which you can read more about in our review.

Lara was now cast as a hardscrabble survivor, pushed to brutally take out her attackers before they could get her. Fortunately the visceral combat gameplay was easily good enough to meet the new characterization, which also went well with the cleverly implemented leveling system. Plus, the lush but treacherous island is the perfect place for some of the best platforming of the generation. Lookout Nathan Drake, Lara is ready to take back her crown.
